IP (Internet Protocol; see TCP/IP) is the network protocol or set of rules which prescribes how the computers connected on the Internet communicate. The Internet Protocol and the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) (TCP/IP for short) is the base communications protocol suite of the Internet.
